Express 94 Finishes First at TN State Tournament

TheERSA Express 94 U-15 girls, coached by Patrick Winecoff, finished first in the Tennessee US Youth Soccer National Championship D2 tournament in Hendersonville May 17th.
Express started off strong by defeating the Collierville Lady Lobos 2-1. Goals were scored by Brooke Gann and Lila Fisher both assisted by Blair Barker. Center mids Madison Kent, Rebecca Haskins, Lacy Mahoney, Megan Barker, Taylor Brock and Mary Megan Robinson played well.
In the finals Express played the Knoxville Football Club Crush who they had played to a 3-3 tie earlier in league play. The outcome was never in doubt as Express sprinted to a 3-0 halftime lead and finished with a 5-1 finals victory and the state championship. Olivia Fine finished with four goals and Brooke Gann with four assists and a goal.
Due to extreme weather, Express had to play all three matches on Sunday with minimal rest between games. Despite the disadvantage, they finished with 9 goals for and 2 against.
Ashley Henry, Lauren Pruitt, Anna Ioniddias, Sophie Mullins, Jamie Moreland and Grace Courter played well limiting the opposition to a direct kick goal and a corner kick goal. No goals were scored against Express in the course of play.
Express qualified for the state tournament by coming in second in league play with a record of 3-0-2. Express has lost two matches all year.
Next up the Express will represent Tennesee in the US Region 3 President's Cup held in Greenville South Carolina beginning June 11th along with the u14 ERSA Express girls and the u16 ERSA Express boys team.
Tryouts to be held Tuesday June 9th and 23rd from 6-7:30 and July 11th 12:00-1:30 all at Camp Jordan.
