Coaching Philosophy:
Soccer is a great sport for fun, fitness and team work. In the early stages of player development ages 8 thru 13, coaches need to spend 70% of their practice time on technical skills . I follow TSSA’s approach to training: starting with fundamental skills to match related skills, then to match condition(the game), and some simple tactics so that the player and the team are both prepared for the game. I also follow TSSA’s approach of micro-soccer, ball control, dribbling and short passes. I also teach chipping, crossing, heading and volleying as part of their technical skills. During my scrimmages I select coaching moments to stop play and teach the players various options and decision making to enhance their knowledge of the game. I believe in order to build a good team a coach needs a competent and motivated staff which includes good Assistant Coaches, Trainers, Team Manager, Team Parents and some good parents and kids that love the game. I also believe it is just as important for each child on the team to feel that they have long lasting friendships with their teammates. I want playing soccer to be fun and something they want to do even when they are adults. I always run an Open practices and I am here to help any child who wants to learn more about soccer.
